Prayer Requests

The family of Darrell Long, brother of Larry Long. Darrell passed away Sunday morning in Carillon Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Arrangements are incomplete.

Matt Ross, son-in-law of Ellis and Mary Matherly, recovering from open heart surgery to replace a heart valve on Thursday at Duke. The surgery went well, and he is in a step-down unit. He is in a lot of pain, but was able to walk a little and most of the tubes have been removed. Continue to remember him and Becky in your prayers.

Debbie Poe, our supported missionary, recovering from extensive oral cancer surgery. Her follow-up appointments have gone well, and she is scheduled to begin 6.5 weeks of chemotherapy and radiation on Wednesday. The first 10 days or so should be mild, but by week 3 the pain will be intense. Pray that she can tolerate the combined treatments, get good rest so she can heal, and that the treatments will fully eradicate the cancer. While the cancer is stage 4, the doctors believe she has a good chance of surviving this with God’s help and your prayers.
